Item No. M1

"My mother sometimes talks as though she has seen God.  She says that her scarf,
on which there are plenty of pictures of pomegranate blossoms, would bear fruit
every year with as much harvest as that of an orchard.  I believe her.  She got her
scarf from the wind when she was only a little girl.  There is a rumour between the
breeze and the dandelion to the effect that when my mother was a child, all the
winds used to blow from Anarestan.  I have a little daughter who sometimes shows
me a way in the sky and when I look at it, its surface is full of pomegranate seeds.
My mother used to say that everything coming from Anarestan would lend the colour
and smell of the pomegranate orchard to everything else which may happen to be
on the way. Now I am sure you, too, would believe that my mother's scarf bears an
orchard full of pomegranates every year." -- Anarestan, Chapter 1
