Sepehri

Sohrab Sepehri (1928-1980) was a true Renaissance man in the Persian arts.  He was equally talented as a poet and a painter.  In the mid-1960s, he gave up a career in the civil service to write and paint full-time.  He spent much of his time during this period abroad, living in the United States and in Paris.  His acute awareness and observance of the subtleties of nature - and human existence - make his works of universal appeal.  He was not only an artist in his own right, but has inspired other artists to create works in tribute to him; a few of those works are shown here.

These prints were designed by Mortaza Jalali Farahani.  Each one contains a stylized verse from Sepehri's poems.  They measure 34 x 24 cm (13.25" x 9.5").
Note: these are vintage items. There is wear around the border on the edges of these prints, especially the corners. This will not show when the prints are properly matted and framed, but please do not expect perfection.
