The lid features a uniquely Persian design called esleemee (there is no exact English translation). The wood interior is varnished for lasting durability.

The side views show the detail that goes into constructing these boxes.  The notch shows how the box would be opened - gently but firmly grasp the end above the notch and then slide the bottom out. The interior is varnished wood.

It has multiple possible uses - great for watches, necklaces, or any item you want to keep handy but out of sight.
