Afshar, Iraj. Yadgarha-ye Yazd (Remembrances of Yazd).  Iraj Afshar (1925--) is a Professor Emeritus of Tehran University and consults for Columbia University. He has also served as the bibliographer of Persian books at Harvard University. He is a recognized authority on Iranian anthropology, with a special interest in linguistics and culture. Eqtedari, Ahmad.  Monuments and Historical Places in the Persian Gulf.  This is a rare four-volume series which covers the Persian Gulf region, including the United Arab Emirates (still known in English as the Trucial States at that time) Bahrain, and the islands throughout the Gulf to the Sea of Oman, with a special emphasis on the Khuzestan region. Hardcover.  Combined weight of 4 volumes: 15 lbs. (6.8 kilograms).  Condition: used (shelf wear, some pencil writing inside, bindings old and loose in some places; all pages intact, some slightly yellow from age but still very readable Vols 3 & 4 are in better condition than Vols 1 & 2 with Vol 1 being the most worn).  $475

Eqtedari, Ahmad. Diyar-e Shah-re Yaran (Monuments of Khuzestan). 820+ pages, ill, some color, 25 cm, hardcover. Tehran: Selsele Intisharat-e Anjomane Asare Melli. 1st Edition, Persian year 1353 (CE 1974).  This book is one of Eqtedari's best works, containing the result of years of study and photography which can never be duplicated. It is a comprehensive look at the historical Khuzestan region. Contains 636 color and black-and-white photographs and illustrations, including a color photo of the Tomb of Daniel. Condition: used. This is a limited edition publication and  is numbered 110. A portrait of the last Shah was in the front of the book, but was torn out by the Provisional Government before it was exported. There is some light pencil writing inside on several pages, and a scratch on the cover. All pages are intact.

Eqtedari, Ahmad. Ancient Larestan and Larestani Culture (Larestan-e Kohan va Farhang-e Larestani). 601 pages, 23 cm, hardcover. Tehran: Jahan-e Moaser, Persian Year 1371 (CE 1992). This is one of the most comprehensive books on the history and culture of the Larestan region. Eqtedari, a native of the region, is recognized as the undisputed authority on Larestan. Many authors have been honored by Eqtedari writing introductions to their works, which is viewed as a seal of approval for their scholarship. This rare book is of great value to anthropologists, archaeologists, historians and linguists. The text is mostly in Persian; it includes extensive vocabulary of the regional language, with text written in the Latin alphabet.

The condition is used: the binding has been repaired. There is some light pencil writing on several pages, and some have been folded down at the corners. All pages are intact.
