Item No. 111

The Immortals were so called not because they were considered blessed with unending life; indeed, as the elite personal guard of the king (shah), the exact opposite was sometimes required of them. It was more due to the fact that their number remained a constant 10,000.

In this portrait, an Immortal in full ceremonial gear is shown against a bronze-colored background.

khatam karee means "hand-inlaid."  To inlay is to apply wood or other materials in geometric shapes to decorate the surface of various objects. The average is 250 pieces for every cubic centimeter of inlaid work.  The frame is hand-inlaid and the painting is set into an attractive border.

Comes with a metal eyelet on the back, ready for display on your wall.

This item would make an excellent gift for anyone who is fond of fine craftsmanship, folk arts, decorators or anyone looking for that extra touch of class for their home. Great for business leaders, Father's Day and similar occasions.
