Item No. 2412

khatam karee means "hand-inlaid."  To inlay is to apply wood or other materials in geometric shapes to decorate the surface of various objects. The average is 250 pieces for every cubic centimeter of inlaid work.

The painting is done on celluloid and depicts a game resembling modern-day polo, which was popular among Central Asian nomads.

The picture is set into an attractive border reminiscent of the elaborate mosaic work. It was photographed at an angle to minimise the reflective glare from the glass

The frame comes with a stand on the back as well as a metal mounting at the top, ready to display on your tabletop or wall.

This item would make an excellent gift for anyone who is fond of fine craftsmanship, folk arts, decorators or anyone looking for that extra touch of class for their home.
